It started with an idea that I couldn't let go of. I wanted, as a baby gift for my newest niece Sasha, an alphabet chart in Russian. Her mother, Sophia, is of Russian descent and I wanted to give them something unique and personal for their second baby girl. Amazingly I couldn't find any Russian alphabet charts to purchase on Etsy, so I decided to tackle making one from scratch.
I marched off to the Abington Free Library and checked out "The Itiot's Guide to Russian," as well as a few other dictionaries. I also became super familiar with Google Translate. I divided the chart into 33 squares, and illustrated it with images that represented the letters (and sounds) one by one.
Since I could find nothing like it on the web, I decided to list reprints of the poster for sale on Etsy. I sold three in a week! My first customer, a Russian immigrant living in Brooklyn, helped proof the print and made sure I hadn't made any errors. I kept it local, and used the friendly folks at Jenkintown Business Graphics for the printing.
So here is the gift to Sasha! And she is a gift to us. Добро пожаловать сладкий Саша!

Awesome. I wish I knew how to Pinterest it from my iPad!
